Banned words

For some reason winter brings out the worst in guys. Those with an eat pray love syndrome, dark secrets, and those who said they'll call but don't.
So while going through the motions of spewing to heal the slightly bruised heart/ ego, some 'are you f'g kidding me' words have been blacklisted for the time being: 18, door, distracted, boxes, writer.
Oh wait, using the term 'guys' is letting these people off too easily, but let's not stoop to that.

Letting go of distractions

I am a very outcome driven person. If I can I would rather take two steps than three, that's how I completed a 3 hour Maths exam in 1 and still got a high distinction.
Lately I find that this has worked against me - I've been so preoccupied with expectations and what would happen three days later that I forget to enjoy the process.
So yups, I will slow down and as cliche as it might sound, take the time to smell the roses.

The winter edition

I wrote this on the last day of Autumn:

'It's the last day of autumn and the chills are building. I usually have tons to share, messages to spread and many a shout outs to you, you and you. But I am at a loss for words this winter, despite all your FB status/ photo updates, the Murrah, Bali, seeing all of you (or not, opps) on my trip back, Marimekko craze, Warrior dash, food expeditions, the autumn affair (I'm talking about my housewarming, mind you), aloe killing, and http://textsfromhillaryclinton.tumblr.com/ (she rocks!)

So I thought I would share a friend's writing after one of our conversations, spread a message, and shout out to said friend. His words still haunt me after 4 years. Be careful the next time I have a conversation with you, I may just share it with everyone else on my blog, twitter, FB, tumblr... Just kidding, but my friend did put up this conversation on his blog! In case you don't read on, have a fabulous rest of the year, cycle a little, give a lot and laugh more.'

I've put up the conversation in my earlier entry - rules of flying. It continues to haunt me, but I am happy where I am, just always striving to be better than I was yesterday.
